Fight Night is definitely a game that not only amazes with it’s graphics, but also it’s game play. This boxing game takes the cream of the crop and is a must buy for boxing fans out there. The control scheme takes a little getting used to, but once you go a few rounds it will become second nature. I can’t say enough about the graphics in this game and I know graphics alone does not make a game, but luckily the overall game is worth the purchase. This game definitely show cases early glimpses of what the PS3 can really do and makes me hopeful for future games on this powerful system.

This game is quite frustrating takes some practice to learn how to use the controls effectively and button mashing will not help. Cause at first no matter how many times or how hard you push the buttons you will get beat. It does have amazing graphics. Overall the game is good and its worth the price you pay.

The 2 star review is from someone who obviously didn’t take the time to figure out the game. There is a training mode, which is very helpful, as well as instruction on the moves in game manual. After the first night I was knocking the crap out of my opponents. It seriously isn’t hard to figure out how to play this game.

Ok, now that I have cleared that up I would like to go into what I though of the game itself. I am playing this on 42" plasma with 1080p and the graphics are stunning. I didn’t feel like the punches/defense was delayed at all. It feels very on demand and when I execute a move I get a response right away. Also I love that you use the right analog stick to throw all of your punches (L1 right analog for body shots). Covering up and bobbing and weaving are real simple to perform as well. It takes some practice to get off solid combonations, and you have to make sure to work the body and jab to be effective.

I would recommend this game to anyone that loves boxing. For some in game video clips, there are plenty […

Yessir this game is sweet. Nice job with this one EA a big hit. Love this game is well worth it. Hours of fun creating fighters for mates that look like clowns, then versing each other/fighting online.

Much like the previous Fight Night games it’s fun with your friends for a good while. Pretty soon it begins to get a bit boring and falls by the wayside. Fun to pick back up and play every once and a while. Amazons price makes it a pretty good deal for a solid game.

Let’s face it, people who like tattoos are always looking for the next amazing tattoo design to set themselves apart from the crowd and although this might seem like an easy task, anyone who has been through it knows differently. Sometimes it can just hit you, you see something in a picture or in a museum or even in a movie and bingo! that’s it - you know straight away that this is your next tattoo. If you’re one of the lucky ones (those who can draw beautifully from imagination) you can scribble it down and take your own amazing tattoo design to your tattooist and within no time at all your dream is a reality. However, most of us are not that lucky and whilst we have willing and creative minds which think up all these amazing tattoo designs we have weak and stubborn fingers who insist on not getting the picture (literally!).

Body art has been with us from the year dot when ancient cave men used it not only for camouflage but also to mark themselves and their tribesmen out from other rival tribes. Indeed, the word ‘ tattoo’ is derived from the ancient Tahitian word tattau meaning to mark. Since then tattoos have evolved into a serious art form and most people are into their body art because it is beautiful and because it makes a personal statement about themselves. Choosing your amazing tattoo design can be a minefield though. Just think of all the Chinese symbols for example. Do you know what they mean - and moreover, do you expect your tattooist to know? A very good friend of mine had a Chinese symbol tattoo done a couple of years back. It was a beautifully intricate design on his left shoulder with symbols surrounded by oriental dragons and magnificent colours. He was born in the year of the dragon and his wife was born under the sign of the dog. The symbol was suppose to say something like ‘ dragon will honour dog in life and death. However he has since discovered that although it does say that it could also be construed as dragon will curse dogs honour in life and death.

The same is true of Celtic or Egyptian symbols, and if you fancy something a bit out of the ordinary it’s best to do loads of research first and be sure your symbol says exactly what you want it to say. Remember, your tattoo artist is just that, an amazing artist - NOT an expert in all sorts of ancient scripts and symbols!!

When you know it’s time for another tattoo (or indeed when you’ve taken the decision to have your first) it is wise to take some time and look into various styles and designs and also think hard about where on your body you want to have it done. I know some women who have had amazing tattoos designed and inked all around their belly buttons only to discover that when they are pregnant (and subsequently left with stretch marks) the fabulous butterfly looks just a bit less fabulous than it did on a tanned and taut abdomen! Also, think about it from an employment point of view. Like it or not, a tattoo is not always viewed favourably by prospective employers. This is not such a problem for males, however lots of women get tattoos around their ankle or lower leg and, if in a professional capacity you need to wear a smart skirt suit, then it could make things just a little bit difficult.

Consider also, that your tattoo will be with you for life. Now, I know this is always the argument against having a tattoo, especially when it’s your first one, however it is a valid one. You must be committed to the design you choose as it will be with you for a very long time. In my opinion, it’s best to steer clear of the ‘fashionable’ tattoo styles, the ones that come in fad’s and disappear a year or two later leaving your skin very ‘last season’! Choose something that means something to you, something that has a little personal story behind it. Then, when people remark on your tattoo and ask about it (and they will!) you have something interesting to say about it and about yourself too.

I bought this for my Godson (2005?) when it first came out. Infact I had to search allover because he wanted a red one. Well he’s a Senior in HS now & still carries it with him all over the place. So I guess that says it all. I couldn’t be happier if I had bought it for myself ;-)

Review date : 2008-02-08
The DS is awesome as I thought it was going to be! I didn’t use the red stickers and decals that came with the unit as I just love the red color as it is! Besides, there’s so much more to play than just Mario on it!

The Nintendo DS I received in the mail was new and never removed from the original shipping carton. Just exactly as I understood in the advertisement. The carton arrived in one piece without a wrinkle or tear. I have not opened the package yet as it is a Christmas gift.

I have had this particular DS for about 2 years. I love it and I play it all of the time. This was a great bundle because of all of the extras. It came with a carrying strap, stickers, and Mario Kart. It is beautiful and probably the best gaming consul I have ever had. It is certainly durable and the screen doesn’t have a scratch on it. The graphics are great and sound is loud enough. There are great games for it (animal crossing, Mario). I could go on and on. I can’t get enough of my DS!

Mailed quickly - the bundled game was great. Everything came with it and it was true to condition - excellent.

i bought two of these at walmart, a black one and a pink one for my wife. and they’re great kinda hard to put on but you’ll get it. they feel very comfortable in my hands and soft. they came with usb charging cord and what’s cool about mine is that they change color. the only little problem with the pink one is that it has a weird smell kinda like ruber but just the pink one. weird huh? well hope this helps, thank you.

Review date : 2008-02-05
It protects well against sweaty hands, dirt, and in case u drop ur controller. but for mine, i had to cut pieces of it off in order to use the joy stick more freely. at times when using the joy stick part of the controller, it would get in contact of the silicone pad slowing the action down. but its worth it for the price.

Product didnt fit right at first but after adjusting it and using the controller, the skin laid on very well. Happy with purchase.

The race for mega pixels has started and there is no way to stop it. Every few months cameras with more pixels hit the market. The manufacturers want you to dump your old camera and buy the newest and greatest one after all arent 10 mega pixels better than just 8? Apparently the answer is not that simple.

As with many other things when it comes to mega pixels more is not necessarily better. There are many considerations when buying a camera and the number of mega pixels is just one of them. One of the most important things to consider is usage. More mega pixels are good for people who plan to print photos (especially enlargements) or for people who need to zoom in and grab fine details from a big photo. If the main usage of the photos is watching them on your computer screen and maybe printing a few 4X6 prints than 2 mega pixels is more than enough (yes just 2). Most screen resolutions are 1024X768 so even when viewing the photo in full screen mode you can only view 1024X768 < 1 mega pixels. A 2 mega pixels 4X6 photo print will have a DPI higher than 300 which is more than enough for a good quality print.

If you plan to use your photos for enlargements than a rule of thumb is to be able to print at least 300DPI resolution. The following is a table for different print sizes and the needed mega pixels for such print quality:

page 4X6 2MP
page 5X7 3MP
page 8X10 7MP
page 11X14 14MP
page 16X20 28MP
page 20X30 54MP

Another practical consideration is price and budget: Usually the more mega pixels the more expensive the camera is. Unless your budget is infinite when buying a camera you make a compromise between mega pixels and other features. For example is it better to spend money on more mega pixels or on better lenses? Or maybe instead of getting the latest number of mega pixels get an external flash for low light photography? When buying a camera try to predict what and how you will use it. In many cases a lower mega pixels sensor with better a lens will result in a much better photo than a high mega pixels with an inferior lens. Shop around and make sure that you get the best package in terms of mega pixels and other features.

To conclude when shopping for a camera it is best not to be a victim of the mega pixels race. Although it is generally a good thing to have a high number of pixels there are many other factors that influence the quality of the photos taken and the choice of the right camera for you. Lenses, battery life, light sensitivity, sensor technology used, external flash and many other features are not less important as the number of mega pixels. When shopping for a camera make sure that you consider the whole package and not use the number of mega pixels as a quality indicator for your buy.

The truth is its fun. The only bad thing is you can only play with 2 people, I mean come on its suppose to be a party game.

It is a fun way to exercise. It is not often than one can combine exercise with a video game but this does both quite well.

Review date : 2008-10-01
These games are okay for small children, but older kids and adults are not likely to play these more than once or twice. These games do not have the challenge and appeal of other Wii games. I bought Wii Play because I wanted the extra remote and thought it made sense to get Wii Play for only $10. If I had it to do over again, I would purchase the remote separately and use the $10 I saved to buy Wii Fit or one of the other great Wii games.

It’s not as much fun as other games, but I’m glad I purchased it, plus it came with a free remote.

Similar to Wii Sports, but it includes some interesting casual games. I wished it had Wifi logo on it.

Sometimes you find yourself in a situation when you have to scan paper prints, negatives or slides and store them as digital photos on your computer. Although the reason for doing that can vary there are some common considerations to scanning paper prints. In this article we will go over some of them and try to make your scanning experience easier.

There are three types of prints that you might be scanning:

  • Paper prints: the most common, usually at sizes like 4X6 and 5X7.
  • Negatives: also known simply as film. This is the processed film usually 35mm from which paper prints are made.
  • Slides: very similar to negatives used for projecting photos on a large screen.
  • Scanning paper photos prints.

Photo paper prints are easy to scan. You can choose to scan them yourself at home (purchasing a scanner that can do the job is usually cheap and costs less than a $100). You can also choose to mail them (or hand them) to a professional scanning service that will scan them for you and mail you back the originals and a DVD with the digital scans (such services include www.digmypics.com, www.digitalpickle.com, www.britepix.com and many more)

There are pros and cons to both scanning at home and using a professional service. If you have a small number of photos scanning at home is easier. If you have plenty of photos using a service might be easier but you can end up spending more money. When scanning at home consider the following:

  • Resolution: the resolution of a scan is measured by the number of dots per inch that the scanner can produce. Most scanners can scan at 1200 DPI or more. Usually the scanner can be set to scan at different resolutions. The higher the resolution the slower the scan and the bigger the photo file size will be. For most paper prints scanning at 300 to 600 DPI is enough but you can experiment scanning at higher resolutions if you feel it provides better results.
  • Speed: If you have a small number of photos speed is not an issue. If you have hundreds or more of photos scanning speed becomes important. To get fast scans you would have to scan at the lowest resolution possible that results in good enough scans for most paper prints 300 to 600 DPI is enough.. Also if youre going to buy a scanner check the scanning speed (usually measured in the number of scans per minute make sure that you check the speed at the DPI youre going to use).
  • Photo feeding: if you only have a small number of photos this is not an issue. If you have many photos make sure that the scanner you buy allows fast and easy loading of photos. Some higher-end scanners will let you load a stack of photos and will automatically feed and scan them for you. These scanners are the right choice if you are planning on scanning hundreds or more photos.
  • Scanning negatives and slides

Scanning negatives and slides is harder than scanning paper prints. In most cases it is easier and maybe cheaper to use a professional scanning service (such services include www.slidescanning.com, www.myspecialphotos.com, www.pixmonix.com and many more). If you want to scan at home your standard flat scanner will not be good enough. In most cases you will need to spend money on purchasing a film/slides scanner. Those scanners are more expensive than the flat paper scanners. Negatives and slides are small high resolution sources and thus require scanning at higher DPI than paper prints. In most cases 2400DPI or higher should be used.

The considerations for scanning negatives and slides are similar to scanning paper prints. If you need to scan just a few negatives or slides speed and ease are not important but if youre going to scan hundreds or more you should spend more money on scanners that can feed the negatives or slides automatically or can just load a roll of film and scan it.

I bought this game recently, and even if it is one of the first games to hit the PS3, it’s one of the better looking, most entertaining games on the I own right now. I got so hooked up on it I had to pre-order Resistance 2. A must buy! ! !

    Review date : 2008-10-26

This is an Old school style FPS with obvious upgrades thanx to the technology behind the PS3. Commands and movements would feel really familiar to experienced gamers. I believe they should make some upgrades to the motor that controls the character movements and work some more in the AI for enemies. I hope Resistance 2 to be a little more solid on this aspects.

Anyway the game is really good, loads of fun and have a great story line.
Scenarios could be tad boring cause they are all very similar I can`t see the difference between London and Oxford other than the snow LOL.

The game pays itself for the multiplayer option so go for it you wont regret it, its already a PS3 classic and goes for a decent price!

    Review date : 2008-10-24
Resistance seemed like a remake of Killzone with different enemies. Combat gets a bit repetitive as in most FPS. I waited til the price dropped because the game is not worth $60. I’ll probably do the same with Resistance 2. It’s a good game, great graphics, very simple gameplay, shoot ‘em up, blow ‘em up, don’t die, and save the world. Storyline is worth getting into. Replayability is nonexistant and multiplayer is completely terrible compared to games like Call of Duty 4 and Battlefield.

I’ve owned a PS3 since launch but never played this game until recently. I have played the best; Farcry, Call of duty, Crysis FEAR, etc. I was never really interested in playing a console fsp, prefered them on pc. Was in GameStop the other day and decided that 30 dollars was not bad for a game ive heard so much good stuff about. Poped it in my ps3. (yawn). It began like anyother fsp game (yawn). But i noticed something. It was becoming more thrilling and exciting by the minute. I have now been officially hooked. If you like fsp this game should not be missed. Its one of the most engrossing and captivating game on any system. Period.

My kid got a PS3 that’s been sitting idle. We got it to replace a Wii that we sold, that was also sitting idle.

I talked him in to letting me move it into my media room so that it might get some play–in Hi Def, no less. So he did.

Resistance has always been a game that looked interesting. I’d played the demo and didn’t quite get it, but at $29.00 I couldn’t pass it up.

I will say it’s a fun game. Lots of guns, fast paced action. Lots of enemies on screen at one time. The look has been criticized for being too "sepia toned" but I thought it was OK. It is NOT a showcase for the graphical power of the PS3–thing more Call of Duty 2 on the 360, which was also a launch title. This does not leave the same impression that, say Gears of War did with me. But Gears wasn’t a launch title.

I haven’t played multiplayer yet but the single player is lengthy and I must say I’m moderately interested in the story. Nathan Hale–is he going to turn? I can’t wait to find out.

I don’t think game is worth 60 bucks–not at this point. But it is a solid buyat $30 bucks–and it’s available only for the PS3, which, in my estimation, is sorely lacking in quality shooter exclusives. So this ranks as a "must buy" at 30 bucks for PS3 owners. And it’s enough to make me think Resistance 2 will be insane.

This franchise–and not the cut-scene heavy Metal Gear Solid, is what the PS3 needs.
