I am on my second DS as the first one literally wore out in one year. Yes, the hinge broke like so many others have reported. The touch screen seems to get scratched and turn gray from dragging when playing VIRUS BUSTERS, which is my favorite..(played it every day for one year until it maxed out of memory..started over). I have about nine different games, BRAIN AGE 2 being my favorite (it includes virus busters). I still haven’t figured how to play SUPER MARIO. Wouldn’t be without one of these amazing gadgets.

This is great. Bought it for my 6 year old daughter. When her cousins saw it they had to have one, too. Holds lots of games. We are also able to get car adapter, earphones, charger, and Guitar Hero attachment in the pak with the Nintendo. Lots of room!

I purchased this product after reading the reviews. It has been a perfect choice for my 5 year-old daughter. There is sufficient padding to protect the DS when/if it’s dropped. There is plenty of room to store both the car and the electric charger. I agree that the elastic used to hold the games in is tight, however if it weren’t it would defeat the purpose as the games would fall out when you close it. The ones on the end seem to be the smallest, we won’t need to use them until we own several more games, and then we (the adults) would just keep our games in the end slots. The pocket in the front is great for keeping an extra stylus and battery. If someone wanted to keep the books in the case, I do not think there would be enough room unless you only stored the DS and the games in the organizer.

I was skeptical when I first read the articles citing adults were buying the DS and games like Brain Age to stay "sharp".

I am glad I bought one (along with Brain Age, Chess Master, Spanish and others). I find it has been a valuable tool to exercise my mind "outside of work" and also a welcome break from the daily torture of sitting at a computer all day.

If you love dogs this is the DS for you. it has a pawprint decal on it and a rare nintendogs best friends game.The Best Friends game has six popular breeds of dogs Miniature Dachshund(I also have a Mini Dachshund named Maggie)Beagle,Golden Retriever,Labrador Retriever,German Shepherd,and Yorkshire Terrier.I honestly think that the games are all the same.Once you get a lot of trainer points you unlock things that you can buy so you can actually unlock all the breeds like Chihuahua Dalmatian,Etc.The color of the DS looks better than coral pink,but I like the teal nintendo ds with the same game better. I don’t own either one of them but tmy friend has one and she has a ton of games. Trust me ,If you love dogs or nintendogs this is NDS Bundle for you.

I didn’t mind paying the extra money to get it later than what it was offered on Thanksgiving.

For people like me that like nice and shiny stuff with a zelda symbol on it, this much resembles it. I like how everything is gold. It makes the DS feel much more smoother (Unless it really is). I even like how it included the Phantom Hourglass game with it (Which by the way, is amazing also).

Other than that if you want to pay for the extra money, then this is worth it. I like it 5 out of 5.

I got this gold color DS for my 7-year old son as birthday gift. This is the only toy that he still plays after couple of months and still loves it. Since his cusien came to visit with a white DS to share with him for a few days, my son started to ask for one from time to time. It seems it becomes a must-have for today’s kids. I played it a little but didn’t find it so insteresting, for sure kids have a lot of fun with it. I do noticed that the screen, image, and font are quite small, that may harm eyes if playing for longer time. Now I have to discipline my son for DS play time since I found he often cannot consentrate on homework when he plays DS too much.

I just wish I knew this "Metallic Rose" color would be available as a standard color before I bought it though…I feel a little cheated because I originally wanted the pink but opted to pay slightly more for the "limited edition" factor that made it a little unique compared to the pink. It didn’t help that I just bought mine about a month ago either… and only got to be unique for five seconds LOL… luckily I didn’t pay that much more but still it stings a little. The little "paw emblem" is not enough to make this version unique, it was the RARE C0LOR it "had" but I learned my lesson, I’ll never get sucked into buying something from big companies like this because it’s limited or whatever. Once it sells and starts raking in the dough for the company, it will no longer be limited. That’s just how big companies are.

As for the Nintendo itself,,,, I love it! I play it all the time and never get anything else done anymore. It’s definitely a fun system with lots of game choices available. I am probably addicted to it. I think it’s worth the price too… considering how much use I’ve gotten from it already! I hope they continue making lots of games. I also love the whole touchscreen aspect.

My only complaint is that I think it’s stupid that we need to power off the entire machine anytime we do anything or change a setting on the Nintendo instead of just being able to restart it or something.
Also, the microphone doesn’t seem to work very well. There are certain games that require voice input to play and a lot of them have problems understanding or hearing me correctly or will just cut out sometimes.

NINTENDOGS:
The game that came with this system was cute but I could see people getting bored with it quickly. I had fun with it for the first week or two and then I was dying for another game. It was also the only game I had at the time so that helped force me to play it more than I probably would normally. As far as a simulation game though, it’s pretty good and could be very close to having a real puppy (but not really of course). My five year old seems to love it so that’s that.

I just wish I knew this "Metallic Rose" color would be available as a standard color before I bought it though…I feel a little cheated because I originally wanted the pink but opted to pay slightly more for the "limited edition" factor that made it a little unique compared to the pink. It didn’t help that I just bought mine about a month ago either… and only got to be unique for five seconds LOL… luckily I didn’t pay that much more but still it stings a little. The little "paw emblem" is not enough to make this version unique, it was the RARE C0LOR it "had" but I learned my lesson, I’ll never get sucked into buying something from big companies like this because it’s limited or whatever. Once it sells and starts raking in the dough for the company, it will no longer be limited. That’s just how big companies are.

As for the Nintendo itself,,,, I love it! I play it all the time and never get anything else done anymore. It’s definitely a fun system with lots of game choices available. I am probably addicted to it. I think it’s worth the price too… considering how much use I’ve gotten from it already! I hope they continue making lots of games. I also love the whole touchscreen aspect.

My only complaint is that I think it’s stupid that we need to power off the entire machine anytime we do anything or change a setting on the Nintendo instead of just being able to restart it or something.
Also, the microphone doesn’t seem to work very well. There are certain games that require voice input to play and a lot of them have problems understanding or hearing me correctly or will just cut out sometimes.

NINTENDOGS:
The game that came with this system was cute but I could see people getting bored with it quickly. I had fun with it for the first week or two and then I was dying for another game. It was also the only game I had at the time so that helped force me to play it more than I probably would normally. As far as a simulation game though, it’s pretty good and could be very close to having a real puppy (but not really of course). My five year old seems to love it so that’s that.

My daughter has enjoyed playing this game. I just think that Nintendo needs to provide more detailed instructions on how to play the games. Each only contains a brief overview and you pretty much have to figure the rest out for yourself.

Things I managed to find some use:

1. Charge cradle (the blue light is constantly on)
2. Case (works well)
3. Pouch (good for storing extra games and other stuff)

Useless Items:

headphone is cheap and filmsy, top screen protector won’t stick and the bottom screen protector is too thick so the ds won’t register the stylus once you put it on, case are too big so the game will bounce around inside them. Everything else is pretty much useless.

I think I should have bought the stuff I now use separately but it’s not that bad for under $20.

I bought 2 sets of these screensavers and have yet to scratch badly enough to replace. My 4 yr. old granddaughter plays w/my game and these screensavers endure her coloring and scribbling. I highly recommend these for your DS.

I’ve tried other screen protectors and end up throwing them out because they don’t fit or they bubble. This is my second set and it works really well.

It’s easy to apply. The screen protectors are between two other plastic sheets. First wipe the screen (with the included cloth), then you peel off one plastic sheet and face down the middle sheet (actual protector) to the screen and slowly press it down as you lay it out. Finally peel off the top sheet. I had no trouble applying the top screen protector, but I had to reapply the bottom screen protector several times because of bubbles. I eventually ended up with a couple of bubbles in the bottom middle before I gave up. Surprisingly, they disappeared on their own the next day. Seems like it’s not really necessary to press out the bubbles as per the instructions.

Definitely buy to protect your NDS.

It can be a pain in the neck to apply. At first I tried the bottom screen, i lined up the screen on one side and just kind of lay it on top, thinking that i can just push out the bubbles with a card or something. big mistake, some bubbles are too small can can’t be pushed out, and while scraping to get them out, i scratched the protector and left a big line on it.

Good thing this is reusable. I took it off, wiped the screen, and washed the protector with soap and rinsed it clean. Drying the protector is another challenge, becasue no matter what you use to wipe it dry, it will pick up dirt, lint, etc. I ended up re-applying and re-washing it at least 5 times before giving up on wipeing it dry. the best way to dry it after washing is perhaps to use a hair dryer, or just shake off the water first, and then rest it at an angle against a drawer wall (sticky side down so no dirt fall on top of it) and let it dry overnight like I did.

The trick that finally worked for me is to line the protector on one side, then slowly lower the protector, use a finger to push the protector onto the screen, slowly, push from inside out so no bubble forms. If there’s a bubble, pull the protector back just enough so the bubble goes away, and reapply.
